Restaurant of the Week

Joey 3120 N. Sepulveda Blvd, Manhattan Beach, CA 90266

Joey has 17 locations in Canada and around the US, with 3 here in SoCal. This MB location opened in the Manhattan Village in 2021. It has a large space (over 9,000 sq ft) with a breezy patio and stylish, local art. It is lively and fancy, but still has the South Bay vibe that doesn’t try too hard. It’s great for a date night, a chill hang with friends, or to celebrate something special!

Joey has Happy Hour every day from 3-6pm, and their Late Night Happy Hour takes place on Sunday-Thursday from 9pm-Close… Make sure to try their iconic “Adult Snack Packs” during HH (think combos like Truffle Fries/Martini, Guacamole/Margarita, Cheeseburger/Beer).

Other crowd favorites on the menu are: Mini French Dip Sandwiches, Fresh Sushi (Sushi Cones, specifically), Steak/Shrimp/Ravioli Combo, Butter Cake

Local Spotlight

Otto Tea Shoppe 403 N. Pacific Coast Hwy, Suite 101, Redondo Beach, CA 90277

If you haven’t been to Otto yet, allow us to introduce you to your new favorite matcha latte.

In the newly renovated Redondo Shores area, Otto is a relaxed, fresh tea shoppe. Think fun-boba-shop meets artsy-café.

Their menu is loaded with creative drinks: they have many different Matcha Latte variations and also offer bold Vietnamese Coffee, smooth milk teas, and always-fresh fruity infusions.

We recommend the Matcha Einspanner (topped with thick, velvety, sweetened cream), and either the Strawberry or Banana Cream Matchas. Enjoy!!

We love to feature local businesses in The South Bay Newsletter. Reply to this email & give us some backstory, and we will include yours!

Sam’s Weather Report

This week’s forecast for the South Bay might not bring drama, but it definitely comes with bragging rights.

This Monday kicks off with sunshine and a toasty 71 °F high - perfect for bragging to your out-of-town friends that you live in climate utopia. Tuesday chills a bit to around 68 °F and keeps things partly sunny - ideal for pretending “casual beach day” while secretly enjoying a sweater. Wednesday slides in with low clouds and a bit of potential drizzle in the morning then maybe some sun and a high of 67 °F - so your shoes might get damp, but hey, patio plans could still happen. Thursday bounces back to sunny and pleasant at about 71 °F - a strong contender for “best-day-of-the-week.” Friday keeps it mellow around 67 °F with mostly sun again. Saturday and Sunday are both chill but solid: Saturday hits ~68 °F and Sunday ~69 °F with partial sunshine. Surfboards, bikes, or lazy beach chairs are all fair game this week.
