Have you seen this crazy orange building along PCH in Redondo? That’s actually a restaurant, that graffiti is custom art, and the inside is even better. This place has been around since 2008, and is gaining more attention with their rebranding. It’s got American food, a MASSIVE bar menu, and daily happy hour.
The atmosphere is vibrant; it strikes the perfect balance between casual and lively. It has a charming indoor bar and an expansive backyard patio for our perfect South Bay evenings. Did you see the Manhattan Beach Pier full of stationary bikes today?
Today, Sunday May 18th, was the annual Tour de Pier event. Tour de Pier is a unique fundraiser that brings stationary cycling outdoors. Since 2013, they have raised more than $14 million for cancer charities.
We were there to support our friend who was riding, and we were blown away by the huge participation! We were energized by the enthusiastic coaches and riders, and inspired by the stories told. There were so many volunteers; including the Laker Girls, and Bailey the LA Kings mascot.
At the time of writing this newsletter, they have raised $1,472,389. Help them reach their goal of $1.5 million! (Read more)

Shoutout to our bestie Kaila for riding for two legs today!

Weather & Surf
This week in the South Bay, expect classic “June Gloom in May” vibes—mornings start off looking like a moody indie film, then clear into golden afternoons that will make you forget how expensive rent is.
Temps will hang out in the low 70s during the day and drop into the low 60s at night—ideal for sipping wine in a hoodie and pretending it’s fall. No rain, just that classic coastal fog that makes you question whether it’s 7 a.m. or 7 p.m.
On the surf side, the ocean is serving up small but fun rollers most of the week—2 to 3 feet of “I swear this wave looked bigger from the beach.” Morning sessions will be glassy and chill, but by early afternoon, the winds will kick up and turn things into a foam party nobody asked for.
But good news: Saturday brings a new swell and possibly your best excuse to ghost brunch plans. Waves are expected to hit 5–6 feet, which means it’s time to wax up, paddle out, and hope your shoulders remember how to work.
