Hi, neighbors!

Another week into September and we couldn’t be happier seeing all the locals out to play.

Thank you for sharing the Newsletter with your friends and family last week! We are grateful to see our community continue to grow, and we selected a winner for the Angel City tickets for this week’s game.

School is in full swing and apparently so is cold season…we’ve been sick all weekend. But it’s okay because we live in paradise and there is PLENTY coming up this week!

Restaurant of the Week

Barsha 203 W Grand Ave, El Segundo, CA 90245

Barsha is a big success in the South Bay! It’s the kind of unpretentious, under-the-radar restaurant that South Bay residents probably don't want anyone outside of their zip code to know about. This family-owned gem brings authentic Tunisian flavors with a California twist.

The El Segundo restaurant just opened; however, they have another restaurant in Hermosa Beach and a Wine Shop in Manhattan Beach.

Braised Lamb Shank (the definite winner: braised beef cheeks on Tunisian-style couscous), Tunisian Fried Chicken (Sundays only), and Tabil Branzino (with couscous risotto). For smaller plates, don't miss the Falafel Sliders and Roasted Cauliflower.

Spice without being spicy - featuring turmeric, caraway, and harissa in approachable dishes. The restaurant offers indoor/outdoor seating, live music weekends, and a fantastically priced wine list from their wine shop.

Sam’s Weather Report

The South Bay has officially shifted from “mildly cozy” to “okay, now we’re sweating.” The mornings are still doing their usual marine layer cosplay, but by the time lunch hits, the sun’s out flexing like it owns the place. Highs are creeping into the upper 70s, even brushing 80°F, which for us coastal folks basically qualifies as a heatwave.

So yeah, get ready for classic local summer mode: iced coffee becomes a personality trait, shady spots at the beach suddenly feel like luxury seating, and you’ll debate whether sunscreen is “optional” only to regret it by 3 p.m. It’s the same daily pattern—fog, burn-off, sun—but now with bonus sweat. Don’t forget to grab your aluminum-free deodorant and SPF 30 before heading outside.
