Local Spotlight

Dive N’ Surf 504 N Broadway, Redondo Beach, CA 90266

Did you know the wetsuit was invented by two Missouri men?

Bill and Bob, brothers from Boonville, Missouri, moved to Manhattan Beach in 1944 and became LA County Lifeguards. They each bought one-third of Dive N' Surf from owners Hap Jacobs and Bev Morgan, and later invented the first wetsuit to extend surfing and diving in cold Pacific waters.

Now, here’s what Dive N’ Surf has to offer:

  • 5-Star PADI dive certification center with classes from beginner to professional levels

  • Full inventory of surfboards, wetsuits, dive gear, & beach apparel

  • Equipment rentals & repairs

  • Expert staff with genuine knowledge & customer service

The Experience: Customers praise the shop's authentic surf culture and helpful staff who go above and beyond (one reviewer noted staff even helped pump up a customer's stroller tire).

Bottom Line: Dive N' Surf delivers on expertise, selection, and service. It's a must-visit for anyone serious about ocean sports in Southern California.

Sam’s Weather Report

You will never guess what’s coming… okay, you probably will, but let’s pretend it’s dramatic:

The heat is finally turning up. The mornings still start like someone pressed snooze (fog + low clouds—you know the drill), but by afternoon the sun crashes the party like it’s late and regretting life choices. The highs creep from “pleasantly warm” to “why is my shirt sticking to me?” territory, mid-to-upper 70s + possible low 80s inland later in the week.

So here’s your survival plan: ditch the hoodie by lunch, find shade every chance you get, default to iced drinks, and wear sunscreen like it’s your personality.
